Spoon Handle Pendant, made from a Vintage Sterling & Green Guilloche Enamel Coffee Spoon K0160

This elegant pendant used to be the handle of a Norwegian enameled spoon! It is made from sterling silver, and features transparent mint-glass enamel over a lovely Grecian-style engraved design. The type of enameling is called Guilloche (ghee-oh-SHAY), where artists engrave a precise pattern into the metal before applying the enamel. The pattern appears on both sides, and the pendant is accented with a 6mm white freshwater pearl.

To make the pendant, I cut the bowl off the spoon, grind and polish the cut edge smooth. I then carefully drill a hole to accommodate a wire-wrapped sterling and pearl bail. Since this is a real, vintage item, there may be a few minor scratches and scuffs, or some minor chipping and crazing of the enamel. Consider it part of its vintage charm!
