Enameled Brass Spoon Pendant, Vintage Brass Champleve Bonbon Spoon - K0117

This dramatic, elegant pendant is made from a vintage brass spoon that features an ornate enameled design. It measures 2in X 2in.

These spoons are mostly European, usually coming from France, Russia, or Turkey, and can be pretty old – some go back to the early 1900s! The brass bowl was stamped by machine, and then an artist would fill all the depressions with colorful combinations of glass enamel. This style of enameling was known as champleve.

To make the pendant, I cut the handle and shank off the spoon, grind and polish the cut edge smooth and then carefully bend the shank to make a bail. Since this is a real vintage item, there may be a few scratches and scuffs, or some minor chipping and crazing of the enamel. Consider it part of its vintage charm!

A 17"-18" ribbon/cord necklace is included.
