Colorful Spoon Handle Pendant, Vintage Sterling Cloisonne Enamel Spoon Handle - K0340

This beautiful pendant is made from the handle of a vintage sterling spoon handle that features an ornate, colorful enameled design. It measures 3/8in x 2 1/8in.

This spoon came from Britain - the lion mark indicates that's it's from Britain, and the anchor indicates it was made in Birmingham. Some of these spoons can be pretty old – some go back to the early 1900s! The silver was stamped by machine, and then an artist would fill all the depressions with colorful combinations of glass enamel. This style of enameling was known as champleve.

To make the pendant, I cut the bowl and shank off the spoon, grind and polish the cut edge smooth and then carefully bend the remaining shank to create a bail. Since this is a real vintage item, there may be a few scratches and scuffs, or some minor chipping and crazing of the enamel. Consider it part of its vintage charm!
